Anita Kaktynsh
Project Lead of the Private Clients Practice, Attorney at LawAnita Kaktynsh manages private international law projects and specializes in litigation support, estate matters, and asset restructuring.
She has extensive experience in documenting and registering intellectual property rights (copyrights and related rights). She provides full-service support for both Russian and international cultural projects, including structuring investments in non-profit initiatives through donations and grants from private individuals and government agencies for education institutions, medical facilities, foundations, museums, and individuals.
Anita develops litigation strategies for foreign courts and international arbitration proceedings and has extensive experience collaborating with lawyers across various jurisdictions.

Project experience
- Assisted in the transfer of foreign inherited property. Managed the liquidation of an insolvent company in Cyprus and asset distribution to the client. Facilitated the return of funds to Russia from a US broker following the sale of the testator’s financial assets.
- Arranged the removal of a client from the Interpol database. Ensured the protection of the client’s rights throughout all stages of the proceedings.
- Represented a Russian bank in Portuguese court proceedings regarding foreclosure on pledged land plots, including the development and execution of a settlement agreement for more than RUB 330 million.
- Handled the re-registration of an estate exceeding RUB 300 million across six jurisdictions. Managed inheritance rights verification procedures in foreign jurisdictions. Successfully defended against third-party claims against the estate.
- Represented clients in UAE court proceedings regarding breaches of a residential property construction contract by a developer. Ensured the recovery of funds, penalties, and interest amounting to RUB 1 billion.
- Developed an investment arbitration strategy based on the Bilateral Investment Protection Agreement between China and Tajikistan and the Energy Charter Treaty to represent a Hong Kong coal mining company with assets expropriated in Tajikistan through unlawful taxation.
- Represented a client in a case challenging an apartment sale in St. Petersburg’s Golden Triangle. Successfully challenged the rights of a pledgee bank based on bad faith lending practices.
- Oversaw private charitable investments exceeding RUB 1 billion for the renovation, restoration, and operations of Stanislavsky Electrotheatre in Moscow. Provides full-service support for the theatre's productions and cultural projects in Russia and abroad.
- Provides legal support for the Ostrova Charitable Foundation. Supports contractual operations, resolves issues with the procurement of medication and medical equipment, advises staff, beneficiaries and doctors, and assists with subsidy and grant applications.
- Provides full-service support to the Joseph Brodsky Museum. Provides legal support for operations and developed and implemented a project for the establishment of the Room and a Half Memorial Museum And Cultural Center. Ensured the preservation of the museum's public domain status.
- Provides legal support to the Alma Mater Foundation for the support of social and cultural projects. Coordinates the activities of management bodies, assists in the employment of disabled individuals and in the legal side of projects involving people with mental disabilities who perform on stage alongside professional actors.
